26-year old shooting guard Shuai Yuan (194-SG-94) put on an amazing game in the last round for Shanxi L. and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 47.
He had the game-high 46 points adding three rebounds and three assists for Shanxi L. in his team’s victory, helping them to crush Nanjing TX MK (#19, 7-37) with 18-point margin 108-90. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Shanxi L. maintains the 15th position in Chinese league. Shanxi L. is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 17-25 record. In the team’s last game Yuan had a remarkable thirteen three-pointers out of 18 attempts. He has many years of experience at Shanxi L., through which he has constantly improved. Shuai Yuan averages this season 15.0ppg.
Second best performed player last round was Jinqiu Hu (210-C-97) of Guangsha L.. He is former international center in his second season at Guangsha L.. In the last game Hu recorded impressive double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Guangsha L. lost that game 109-115 to the lower-ranked Qingdao E. (#9, 23-21). Guangsha L. managed to keep the same 5th spot in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 25-19 record is not bad and everything may still change. Hu is well-known at Guangsha L. and he already established his position as one of the team’s leaders.
Third place about best performers goes to guard Dezmine Wells (196-G-92) of Jiangsu D. (#17). Wells got into 30-points club by scoring 35 points in the last round. He went also for nine rebounds and seven assists. Despite Wells’ great performance Jiangsu D. lost 94-113 to the higher-ranked Shanghai S. (#13, 21-23). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Jiangsu D. can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 8-35 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Wells he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Wells has individually a great season in China. After 30 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 30.0ppg (3rd best). He also has 2.0spg and FGP: 50.7%.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
