Taylor Rochestie

Experienced American-Montenegrin Taylor Rochestie (186-PG-1985) had a great game in the last round for Tianjin and that’s him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 34.
The 36-year old playmaker had the game-high 38 points adding five rebounds and nine assists for Tianjin in his team’s victory, helping them to edge out Shandong H. (#11, 16-15) 117-114. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. Tianjin is placed at 13th position in Chinese CBA. Tianjin is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 13-18 record. In the team’s last game Rochestie had a remarkable 63.6% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He has many years of experience at Tianjin, through which he has constantly improved. Washington State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Rochestie is in league’s top in points (7th best: 21.9ppg) and averages solid 53.8% FGP and 49.0% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was young American Dakari Johnson (213-C/F-1995) of Qingdao E.. Johnson impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds. It was enough for Qingdao E. to edge the higher-ranked Shanxi L. (#9, 18-13) by 5 points 110-105. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Qingdao E. keeps 15th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league’s best with a mere 10-21 record. Johnson is one of the most experienced players at Qingdao E. and has a reputation of one of team’s most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was American Lester Hudson (190-SG-1984) of Shandong H. (#11). Hudson got into 30-points club by scoring 35 points in the last round. He went also for seven rebounds and eight assists. Despite Hudson’s great performance Shandong H. lost 114-117 to slightly lower-ranked Tianjin (#13, 13-18). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Shandong H. needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 16 victories and 15 lost games. Hudson has a great season in China. After 17 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 24.6ppg (4th best).
