AMMAN (Jordan) – The FIBA Regional Office – Asia held a two-day workshop for Palestinian statisticians on April 7 and 8 in Amman, Jordan.

The objective of the workshop was to instruct and prepare a core of FIBA licensed statisticians in Palestine, and to have them ready  for the first round of the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Pre-Qualifiers, schedule from June 2-4, 2022. 

Palestine Basketball Federation (PBF) President, Mr. Ibrahim Habash said: “I want to thank the FIBA Executive Director Asia Mr. Khajirian and the Regional Office for all the support they have provided to the Palestinian Basketball Federation, and for organizing this workshop for our statisticians in Amman.”

The workshop is part of the Regional Office’s continuous efforts to improve the different departments of its national federations, including the statisticians, who are becoming an integral part of basketball games.

“Our aim is not only to prepare for the Pre-Qualifiers, but also to have a number of good statisticians in Palestine. Statistics are an important part of basketball, and it’s becoming more and more significant our fans, coaches and players, he added. 

“The next step for us is to organize a workshop in Palestine to make sure more participants are given the opportunity to attend and learn, concluded Habash.
