Guandong Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Pioneers’ 30 and made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Pioneers 40-28 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guandong Tigers shot the lights out from three nailing 17 long-distance shots on high 56.7 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists. American swingman Sonny Weems (198-1986, college: Arkansas) stepped up and scored 27 points and 5 assists (perfect from the field making all eleven shots !!!) for the winners and his fellow American import Ricky Ledo (201-1992, college: Providence) chipped in 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws). At the losing side American point guard Kenny Boynton (188-1991, college: Florida) responded with 28 points and Zikai Meng (205-1996) scored 22 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.

At the losing side Israeli-American forward TJ Leaf (208-1997, college: UCLA) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists and Taiwanese point guard Ying-Chun Chen (182-1993, college: Liberty) scored 12 points and 7 assists. Five Loongs and four Long-Lions players scored in double figures. Long-Lions’ coach let to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win.

American forward Jared Sullinger (206-1992, college: Ohio St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and the former international center Zijie Shen (210-1997) chipped in 18 points, 16 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). At the losing side the former international center Hanlin Tao (208-1991) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and the former international point guard Shiyan Gao (186-1996) scored 21 points and 8 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

Strangely Ducks outrebounded Jilin Tigers 50-30 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Dominique Jones (193-1988, college: S.Florida) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 30 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Point guard Weize Jiang (182-2000) contributed with 28 points and 5 assists for the winners. Taiwanese-American point guard Jeremy Lin (191-1988, college: Harvard) answered with 23 points and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and the former international Xiaochuan Zhai (205-1993) added 9 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Ducks. Four Ducks players scored in double figures. Ducks’ coach tried various players’ combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn’t help.
