Boston Celtics strengthened their training camp roster with addition of 26-year old power forward Noah Vonleh (6’10”-240lbs-1995, college: Indiana, agency: Pensack Sports) for season 2022-23. Vonleh played last season at Shanghai Sharks in Chinese CBA league. In 28 games he recorded 14.4ppg, 9.2rpg, 2.1apg, 1.8spg and 1.3bpg. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. Good season as he was named League Player of the Week and voted to All-Chinese CBA Second Team.
The previous (2020-21) season he was tested by the Nets. But in four NBA games he did not score anything and had only 1 rebound and 1 assist.
In 2014 he was drafted by Charlotte Bobcats in first round (9th overall). Vonleh attended Indiana University and it will be his ninth season in pro basketball.
He has played previously for seven other NBA teams: Chicago Bulls, Denver Nuggets, Portland Trail Blazers, NY Knicks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Charlotte Hornets and NY Knicks.
Vonleh was selected All-Big Ten Freshman of the Year back in 2014.
The scouts decsribe him following way:
With his 7-4 wingspan and terrific 242 pound frame, Vonleh has the body, length and intensity-level needed to compete on the interior in the NBA. He shows some ability to score both inside and out, flashing hook shots over either shoulder and range out to the 3-point line, but does not have the skill-level or aggressiveness needed to be a consistent scorer at the college level yet
