Al-Ahli Manama (Premier League) signed 31-year old American guard Manny Harris (197cm-93kg-89, college: Michigan, agency: Network Sports International) to play with the club in GCC. He replaces another USA player Chris McCullough who was supposed to play with Al Ahli in this tournament. Mike Harris (198-SF-83, college: Rice) will be the second import in the team.
Harris played most recently at Shandong Heroes in Chinese CBA league, but left the team in Dec.’20. In 22 games he had very impressive stats: 22.1ppg, 5.9rpg, 4.0apg and 1.9spg last season.
Harris ended the previous (2019-20) season at Hapoel Holon in Israeli Winner League where in three games he recorded also remarkable stats: 22.0ppg, 6.7rpg, 3.3apg and 2.0spg. But the most of that year Harris spent at NLEX Road Warriors in Filipino PBA. In 8 games he averaged high stats: 30.9ppg, 9.0rpg, 6.5apg, 3.0spg and 1.1bpg.
Harris has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2012.
He is quite experienced player. Harris has played in seven different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America). He has played previously professionally also in Greece (AEK Athens), Lithuania (Rytas), Turkey (Turk Telekom, Eskisehir Basket and Acibadem), Ukraine, NBA (Dallas Mavericks and LA Lakers) and NBA G League (Texas L.).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Harris was voted Asia-Basket.com All-Chinese NBL Player of the Year back in 2016.
He attended University of Michigan until 2010 and it will be his 13th (!!!) season as a professional player.
