Guangdong held off Beijing to advance into the semifinal stage. Guandong Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. 34 personal fouls committed by Ducks helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Sonny Weems (198-86, college: Arkansas) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists. The former international Peng Zhou (206-89) contributed with 19 points for the winners. The former international center Ziming Fan (211-98) answered with 21 points and 9 rebounds and the former international point guard Shuo Fang (190-90) added 18 points and 8 assists in the effort for Ducks. Four Guandong Tigers and five Ducks players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.

At the losing side Bulgarian-American point guard Darius Adams (188-89, college: Indianapolis) responded with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists and center Chuanxing Liu (222-97) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds.
