Qingdao Eagles (CBA) signed 26-year old Australian-South Sudanese international center Duop Reath (210cm-117kg-1996, college: LSU) for upcoming 2022-23 season. Reath is the second import player in the roster as USA Eugene German signed here earlier.
He played this summer at Phoenix Suns in the NBA Summer League. In two games just recently he had 6.5ppg and 4.0rpg. The last season he played at Illawarra Hawks in Australian NBL where in 30 games he recorded very impressive stats: 15.6ppg, 7.0rpg and 1.6bpg. He helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in the league. They also advanced to the league semifinals. Good season as he was named League Player of the Week.
He has been also a member of Australian international program for some years. Reath has regularly played for Australian senior team since 2021 and previously for University National Team back in 2017.
He also represented Australia at the Olympic Games in Tokyo (Japan) last year. His team won Bronze and his stats at that event were 4 games: 2.8ppg.
Reath has played previously professionally in Serbia (Crvena Zvezda and KK FMP Meridian Beograd) and NBA Summer League (Brooklyn Nets).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he was voted to All-Adriatic League Honorable Mention in 2020.
He graduated from Louisiana State University in 2018 and it will be his fifth season as a professional player.
