TOKYO (Japan) – Reigning five-time FIBA Women’s Asia Cup champions Japan have opted to ring the changes for the 2021 edition of the competition.
While there have also been multiple player changes for the Olympic silver medalists since their mission on home soil at the Games, four vital players will step back onto the court. The quartet will lead the title defense of Japan in Jordan, while for the other players, it looks like a perfect showcase to push for recognition and inclusion as the path towards the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2022 in Australia gets into full swing.
Japan are in Group A, where they will face India, Korea and New Zealand. They will also make one final cut to their roster from the 13 players named closer to the tournament.
