Former international Center Qi Zhou (217-C-96) had an amazing evening in the last round for Xinjiang FT, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 51.
The 24-year old player had a double-double of 37 points and 26 rebounds, while his team crushed Guangzhou LL (#14, 21-28) with 17-point margin 110-93. Xinjiang FT maintains the 4th position in Chinese CBA. They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost a few games earlier this season. Xinjiang FT will need more victories to improve their 33-16 record. In the team’s last game Zhou had a remarkable 62.5% from 2-point range. It’s his second year at Xinjiang FT and it’s hard to imagine this team without him. Qi Zhou has solid league stats. He is in league’s top in rebounds (4th best: 12.7rpg) and averages impressive 2.2bpg and 58.4% FGP.

The second best player in last round’s games was 31-year old Bulgarian Darius Adams (188-PG-89) of Qingdao E.. Adams had a very good evening with a double-double of 44 points and 16 assists. Of course he led Qingdao E. to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Nanjing TX MK (#19, 8-41) 145-111. This victory allowed Qingdao E. to move up to 7th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 27-22 record is not bad and everything may still change. Adams is well-known at Qingdao E. and is a proven leader in his second season with the team. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 27.9ppg (#5). His other stats are also decent: 6.6rpg and 6.6apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was American center Arnett Moultrie (208-C-90) of Nanjing TX MK (#19). Moultrie got into 30-points club by scoring 40 points in the last round. He went also for thirteen rebounds and eight assists. Despite Moultrie’s great performance Nanjing TX MK lost 111-145 to the higher-ranked Qingdao E. (#7, 27-22). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Nanjing TX MK can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 8-41 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Too bad for Moultrie he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Moultrie has individually a great season in China. After 44 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in rebounds with 13.1rpg (3rd best). He also has 1.2bpg and FGP: 59.0%.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
