Taiwanese Point guard Ying-Chun Chen (182-PG-93) had a very impressive game in the last round for Guangzhou LL, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 30.
The 28-year old player got a double-double of 26 points and 22 assists, while his team beat Shandong H. (#10, 14-12) 116-106. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Guangzhou LL maintains the 9th position in Chinese CBA. They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost a few games earlier this season. Guangzhou LL will need more victories to improve their 16-10 record. Chen has many years of experience at Guangzhou LL, through which he has constantly improved. Former Liberty University star has very solid stats this year. Chen is in league’s top in assists (3rd best: 9.8apg) and averages impressive 56.7% FGP and 42.4% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round’s games was 24-year old Serbian Nick Rakocevic (211-F-97) of Zhejiang GB.. Rakocevic had a very good evening with a double-double of 26 points and 18 rebounds. Bad luck as Zhejiang GB. lost that game 85-91 to slightly higher-ranked Shanghai S. (#2, 21-5). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Zhejiang GB. still maintains its place in the top 3 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team’s 21-6 record is not bad at all. Rakocevic is well-known at Zhejiang GB. and is a proven leader in his second season with the team.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Guangzhou LL’s star – Israeli forward TJ Leaf (208-F-97). Leaf scored 23 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). He was another key player of Guangzhou LL, helping his team with a 116-106 win against slightly lower-ranked Shandong H. (#10, 14-12). Guangzhou LL needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 16 victories and 10 lost games. Leaf has a very solid season. In 5 games in China he scored 23.8ppg.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
