American Power forward Noah Vonleh (208-F/C-95, agency: Pensack Sports) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Shanghai S., receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 24.
The 26-year old player had a double-double of 30 points and 14 rebounds, while his team outclassed Shandong H. (#9, 12-9) with 28-point margin 125-97. Shanghai S. is placed at 2nd position in Chinese CBA. They are still close to the very top. Shanghai S. would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 17-4 record. In the team’s last game Vonleh had a remarkable 62.5% from 2-point range. He turned to be Shanghai S.’s top player in his first season with the team. Noah Vonleh averages this season 16.6ppg and 10.3rpg.

The second best player in last round’s games was 30-year old American Trae Golden (189-PG-91, agency: Network Sports International) of Fujian S.. Golden had a very good evening with 46 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Bad luck as Fujian S. lost that game 109-120 to the higher-ranked Shanxi L. (#6, 15-6). Fujian S. is still in a red zone at 17th spot in the standings. 16 lost games are too many comparing to just five victories Fujian S. managed to get this year. Golden is well-known at Fujian S. and is a proven leader in his second season with the team.

Third on the list of top players last round was former international center Jinqiu Hu (211-C-97) of Guangsha L. (#3). Hu scored 25 points and grabbed six rebounds. He was a key player of Guangsha L., leading his team to a 125-94 easy win against the lower-ranked Tianjin (#16, 6-15). Guangsha L. is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 17-4 record is not that bad… Hu has a great season in China. After 21 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 21.6ppg (5th best) and rebounds with 8.1rpg (9th best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
