The teams have now bigger motivation at this stage of Regular Season. Every game can be crucial and decide about teams’ position at the end of Regular Season. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game of round 27 in the CBA took place in Changchun. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 12th ranked Jilin Tigers (9-14) to fourteenth ranked Pioneers (8-15) 101-99 on Sunday evening. It was a great evening for Taiwanese guard Benson Lin (193-99, college: Bryant) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points and 6 assists. American point guard Kenny Boynton (188-91, college: Florida) helped adding 16 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Pioneers’ coach DeGui Zhang used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) with a triple-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 14 assists. Pioneers moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Xinjiang FT and Qingdao E. Jilin Tigers at the other side keep the twelfth position with 14 games lost. Pioneers is looking forward to face higher ranked Ducks (#9) in Beijing in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Jilin Tigers will play on the road against Monkey Kings in Jiangsu and are hoping to win this game.
An interesting game took place in Taiyuan where 6th ranked Loongs (15-8) were upset on its own court by ninth ranked Ducks (14-9) 115-90. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: NM State) who led the winners and scored 28 points. Jeremy Lin accounted for 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. American guard Jonathon Simmons (198-89, college: Houston) came up with 24 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for Loongs in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ducks have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain ninth place with 14-9 record. Loongs at the other side keep the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Guangzhou LL and Shenzhen L.. Ducks will play against Pioneers (#14) in Tianjin in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Loongs will play on the road against Guangsha Lions (#3) in Hangzhou and hope to get back on the winning track.

The best player for the winners was Hamed Haddadi who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 17 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Arnett Moultrie who recorded a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds. Flying Tigers’ coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn’t help. Blue Whales maintains sixteenth place with 7-16 record. Loser Flying Tigers keep the thirteenth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Tianjin and Qingdao E.. Blue Whales will meet at home higher ranked Eagles (#15) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Flying Tigers will play against Heroes in Jinan and hope to secure a win.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 27: Shenzhen L. destroyed Nanjing TX MK on the opponent’s court 122-102. Shandong H. unfortunately lost to Zhejiang GB. in a home game 94-100. Ningbo R. was rolled over Qingdao E. on the road 78-119.

Nanjing TX MK – Shenzhen L. 102-122

Very expected game in Jiangsu where 20th ranked Monkey Kings (1-22) were crushed by eighth ranked Aviators (15-8) 122-102 on Sunday. Aviators looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international Quan Gu (201-92) who scored 21 points and 6 rebounds. American forward Jared Sullinger (206-92, college: Ohio St.) chipped in 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman DMontre Edwards (199-92, college: Tennessee) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and center Baiqing Zhao (204-98) added 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aviators moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Shanxi L. and Guangzhou LL. Monkey Kings lost twentieth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 22 lost games. Aviators will meet at home higher ranked Golden Bulls (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Monkey Kings will play against Jilin Tigers (#12) and hope to win that game.

Very predictable result in Jinan where fourth ranked Golden Bulls (19-4) defeated 10th ranked Heroes (13-10) 100-94 on Sunday. Golden Bulls made 32-of-40 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was Serbian-American forward Nick Rakocevic (211-97, college: USC) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points and 13 rebounds. Shuaipeng Cheng (191-99) chipped in 23 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center Hanlin Tao (208-91) who recorded 20 points and 9 rebounds and American Lester Hudson (190-84, college: UT Martin) added 23 points respectively. Four Heroes players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Golden Bulls have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Shanghai S. and Guangsha L. Not a big story in a game in Qingdao where 19th ranked Rockets (2-21) were rolled over by fifteenth ranked Eagles (8-15) 119-78 on Sunday. Eagles dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Rockets’ 46. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Dakari Johnson (213-95, college: Kentucky) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. Point guard Jiahan Xu (185-93) chipped in 12 points and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian center Vladimir Stimac (210-87) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds and American CJ Trotter (193-88, college: S.Indiana) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Five Eagles and four Rockets players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Eagles moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Tianjin and Xinjiang FT. Rockets lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the nineteenth position with 21 games lost.
