Liaoning toppled Guangdong to open 2-0 lead. Flying Leopards dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Guandong Tigers’ 36 and made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Guandong Tigers 49-28 including a 38-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Flying Leopards players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The former international Ailun Guo (189-1993) had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American power forward Eric Moreland (208-1991, college: Oregon St.) chipped in 14 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The former international Rui Zhao (195-1996) responded with 21 points and American swingman Sonny Weems (198-1986, college: Arkansas) scored 10 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Guandong Tigers’ coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn’t help.

Guangsha outlasted Shanghai for the second consecutive win in the series. Guangsha Lions made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 Sharks turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 28 personal fouls committed by Sharks helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international guard Minghui Sun (187-1996) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 9 assists. Nigerian-American center Jahlil Okafor (211-1995, college: Duke) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. American Jamaal Franklin (196-1991, college: SDSU, agency: Slash Sports) replied with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international center Zhelin Wang (214-1994) added 22 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Sharks. Four Guangsha Lions and five Sharks players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
