Guandong Tigers made 30-of-35 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. 30 personal fouls committed by Golden Bulls helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American swingman Sonny Weems (198-1986, college: Arkansas) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international power forward Jianlian Yi (212-1987) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Shuaipeng Cheng (191-1999) replied with 15 points and 6 assists and forward Zeyi Liu (202-1999) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Golden Bulls. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

Five Aviators players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game.
