Round 11 most important game was a victory of Guangsha Lions over 7th ranked Long-Lions 108-103 on Friday night. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Long-Lions. Guangsha Lions made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. 27 personal fouls committed by Long-Lions helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. International point guard Minghui Sun (187-96) orchestrated the victory by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 5 assists. The former international center Jinqiu Hu (210-97) contributed with 30 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Forward Kai Guo (202-95) answered with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds for Long-Lions. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Guangsha Lions maintains fourth place with 7-2 record, which they share with Shanghai S. and Shenzhen A. Long-Lions at the other side dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Guangsha Lions is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Bayi Rockets (#20) in Ningbo in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Long-Lions will play on the road against Monkey Kings (#18) in Jiangsu and are hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
Very important is a home loss of third ranked Guandong Tigers (8-2) against tenth ranked Ducks (6-4) on Saturday night. Host Guandong Tigers were crushed by Ducks in Dongguan 91-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Guandong Tigers. It was a great evening for the former international center Ziming Fan (211-98) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. XiaoYu Liu helped adding 12 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international Jianlian Yi (211-87) responded with 12 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ducks moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Shandong H. Defending champion Guandong Tigers keep the third position with two games lost. Ducks will play against league’s second-placed Golden Bulls in Hangzhou in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Guandong Tigers will have a break next round.

It was an exceptional evening for Zhang Fan who led the winners and scored 20 points and 5 assists. Biao Zhang came up with 17 points and 5 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for Bayi Rockets in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Royal Fighters maintains eleventh place with 5-4 record. Newly promoted Bayi Rockets still closes the standings with nine games lost. Royal Fighters will meet Flying Tigers (#13) in the next round. Bayi Rockets will play against Guangsha Lions (#4) and will have a slim chance for a victory.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 11: Qingdao E. were beaten by Shenzhen A. on the road 98-97. Xinjiang FT won against Nanjing TX MK on its own court 92-86. Shanghai S. outscored Tianjin in a road game 110-75. Shandong H. recorded a loss to Shanxi L. at home 107-114. Jiangsu D. was crushed by Zhejiang GB. on the opponent’s court 112-76. Jilin NE T. was smashed by Liaoning FL in a home game 89-117.
The most impressive performance of 11th round was 8 points and 9 rebounds by Dejun Han of Liaoning FL.

Beijing RF – Bayi Rockets 95-79

Bottom-ranked Bayi Rockets is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their ninth consecutive match to eleventh ranked Royal Fighters (5-4) 95-79 on Friday evening. Royal Fighters outrebounded Bayi Rockets 50-33 including a 38-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Zhang Fan (194-96) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 5 assists. International center Shaojie Wang (208-96) accounted for 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Aviators (7-2) edged 16th ranked Eagles (2-7) in Shenzhen 98-97 on Friday. However just one-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Aviators dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Eagles’ 42. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Askia Booker (186-93, college: Colorado) who led the winners and scored 37 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international center Zijie Shen (210-97) accounted for 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side.
