Germany and Russia blow out debuts in the Basketball Olympic games in Beijin with Dirk Nowitzki scoring 23 points and Chris Kaman leading all scorers with 24 points.

For Spain vs Greece, it was an all around team effort in the big opening win over Greece with Rudy Fernandez leading all scorers with 16points. Pau Gasol added 11 points and 7 rebounds.
