Yi Jianlian Could Play In 2011 Stankovic Cup

Yi is recuperating from a heel tendon injury with the Washington Wizards this past year. Yi started training with the team on July 20 and will look to get himself back into full motion during the Stankovic Cup.

The Stankovic Cup has two stops beginning in Haining and ending in Guangzhou. Defending champions Austrlia, who field their second-string team, Russia, who will take part in the Shenzheng World Universiade, and Angola joined the home team in the Haining leg from Aug. 1-4. New Zealand will replace Australia to join Russia, Angola and China to play in Guangzhou from Aug. 6-9.

Yi Jianlian another top Chinese player to break through to the NBA with the Milwaukee Bucks will be playing in the Olympics in Pekin. He is a 7″0 ft power forward and excelled in China before coming to the USA to play in the NBA. Jianlian was chosen number 6 overall in the first round of the 2007 NBA Draft.
