The semifinals for the Womens Olympic Basketball Tournament. Host country China defeated Belarus  (77-62) to make its appearance in the semifinals. Miao for China could not be stopped and her shooting percentage was excellent talling 28points and 77% shooting from the field.

China will face Australia who is undefeated at the Olympics, however with Penny Taylor out with a sprained ankle the Opals will need extra scoring to replace her in the semifinals.

In the next game, Russia surprised Spain after playing average during the Olympics and will face USA who is undefeated by margins of over 30 points and more.
